Our Story
The story of Container Brewery began in 2015. Without spoiling what you’ll get to experience during your own brewing day, here’s how it all started.
It began as a challenge. While studying in the Netherlands, Augustin set himself a bold goal: brew the best possible beer while spending as little money as possible. What started as a fun experiment quickly turned into an obsession. Books were devoured, classes were followed, and batches of beer multiplied.
When Simon discovered Augustin’s growing passion, he didn’t hesitate for long. He jumped on board, and together they brewed their very first beer to celebrate their friendship. They called it “Seven Fucking Años.” From that moment on, there was no turning back. Simon fell just as hard into the world of brewing, developed his own style, and together they experimented with a staggering number of recipes, successes, and happy accidents.
Over the years, the brewery lived many lives. BBQs, birthdays, bachelor parties… Container Brewery became a place where beer filled bellies while ideas sparked conversations. Beer was no longer just something you drank. It was something you talked about, questioned, and explored.
Along the way, Simon and Augustin noticed something surprising. Belgians are incredibly proud of their beer culture, yet many people struggle to explain the difference between an IPA and a blond, an ale and a lager, or even name the main ingredients of beer. That observation sparked a new idea.
Why not invite people in? Not just to drink beer, but to make it.
The answer was a full-day brewing experience. A small group of up to ten people, friends or family, comes together to brew their own beer from start to finish. A bit of theory, a lot of hands-on brewing, and special attention given to tasting ingredients and beers along the way. The goal is simple: understand what you drink and trust your own senses.
That’s how Container Brewery evolved. From a fun project by friends, for friends, into a place open to anyone curious enough to discover one of Belgium’s greatest specialties.
